The Makita DRT50 18v LXT Router is equipped with an efficient brushless motor that eliminates carbon brushes, allowing the motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life. This results in up to 50% longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. The router is designed for a wide range of cabinetry and woodworking applications and features a variable speed control dial with 5 speed settings from 10,000-30,000 RPM (no load), electronic speed control to maintain constant speed under load, and a soft start feature for smoother start-ups and better accuracy. The router has an aluminum housing and base for higher durability and accuracy and can accommodate collet sizes of 6mm and 8mm (1/4", 3/8"). It is also 100% compatible with the Makita 18 volt Makstar range of LXT batteries up to 6.0Ah. Convenience features include a smooth fine depth adjustment system for precise settings, dual LED lights to illuminate the work surface, a quick-release cam lock system for easy depth adjustments and base removal/installation, a shaft lock for easy installation and removal of the trimmer bit, and a dust port for attaching to Makita dust extractors. The router also has an on/off button for better control and an electric brake. It is compatible with RT0700C/RT0701C bases and additional bases and attachments are available separately.
